Midnight Supreme — Anatomical Bridle in Braided Leather

The Midnight Supreme is my anatomical bridle in braided leather for four riding styles: with a bit, bitless as a Sidepull, with a bit that has no action, or combined. Handmade, FN-approved.

Multi-bridle: four ways of riding with one bridle

• With a bit, as a bridle — classic for dressage, jumping and cross-country, approved under LPO-FN
• Bitless as a Sidepull — fine influence over the bridge of the nose
• Bit in, but without action — you ride bitless and the bit simply hangs along
• Combined with 4 reins — bit AND bitless at the same time

Four options, one bridle.

Anatomically built, for sensitive horses

I developed the Midnight Supreme out of my own need, for my horse — a headshaker who cannot bear anything on the poll. The construction addresses exactly that:

• Headpiece with a free centre section: no pressure on the atlas area
• Straps running along the nerve pathways: relief for horses with a sensitive trigeminal nerve
• No flash strap: the mouth can move freely, the horse can chew and swallow
• Every buckle backed: no pressure, no rubbing
• A very open construction thanks to the English buckling

Crystal options (purely decorative)

• Crystal Chain: two lines of densely set small crystals, along the top and the bottom of the noseband
• Crystal Rocks: two lines of larger, pointed-cut crystals
• No glitter: no piping at all, just the pure braid

Colours and sizes

Your choice of black with silver fittings or brown with gold fittings. Available in Pony, Cob, VB (thoroughbred) and WB (warmblood). Usually in stock and quick to ship. Only sold-out variants run as a pre-order with a delivery time of around 6-8 weeks.

Common questions about the Midnight Supreme

Is the Midnight Supreme approved for competitions?

Yes. Buckled with a bit it is a classic bridle, approved under LPO-FN for dressage, jumping and cross-country.

What does "four riding styles" mean?

You can ride the Midnight Supreme classically with a bit, bitless as a Sidepull, with the bit hooked in but without any action, or combined with four reins — bit and bitless at the same time.

Is it suitable for sensitive horses and headshakers?

The construction was developed for a headshaker: the headpiece has a free centre section with no pressure on the atlas area, the straps run along the nerve pathways and there is no flash strap — the horse can chew and swallow freely.

Midnight Supreme or CR Harmonybridle — which one suits me?

If you ride mainly bitless and want to switch between Sidepull, Crossover and chin, the CR Harmonybridle is the right choice. If you want to switch flexibly between riding with and without a bit — for competition and training, say — take the Midnight Supreme.

What is included?

Two pairs of reins (anti-slip reins and braided leather reins), every buckle backed, with Crystal Chain, Crystal Rocks or entirely without piping, as you prefer.

Returns, fit and shipping

• 14 days right of withdrawal — unworn goods come back without any fuss. To the withdrawal form and to the right of withdrawal.
• Doesn't fit? We'll exchange it. Horses' heads are different, it happens. Write to me and we will find the right size.
• Better to measure first than exchange later — guide to measuring the head. If you are unsure, send me a photo of your horse's head.
• Shipping within Germany — sizes in stock usually go out within 1–2 working days. Details under Shipping.
• Do you live in the EU outside Germany? Unfortunately I can no longer deliver there directly. The reason: packaging licences, EPR registration and VAT filings apply separately in every single country — that is no longer manageable for a one-woman business. The way that still works: have your order delivered to an address in Germany (a friend, a relative, someone from your yard). As a private individual she can then forward the parcel on to you without any problem. Explained in full here.
• Outside the EU — Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the UK, Norway, the USA, Canada, Australia and many other countries I still ship to directly.
• Handmade. Every part is cut and assembled individually. I packed it myself.
