Shipping to the EU — why I no longer deliver directly

Short version: I no longer ship to EU countries outside Germany. But there is a way you can still get your bridle — it's further down this page.

Why this is the case

I'd love to simply post to any country. It's no longer possible, and that has nothing to do with unwillingness — it has to do with what now hangs on a one-woman business.

For every single EU country I sell into, I need separate registrations and have to file separate reports: packaging licensing and extended producer responsibility (EPR) per country, each with its own registration number, its own fees and its own deadlines. On top of that comes VAT via the OSS scheme with the corresponding filing obligations. And on top of that, postage and returns from abroad, which on a single bridle quickly eat the margin.

Each of these things is manageable on its own. All of them together, for 26 countries, alongside the workshop, teaching and packing orders — that isn't.

I'd rather tell you this honestly than offer something I can't fulfil properly and lawfully. I know it's annoying for you, and I'm genuinely sorry.

The way that does work

Have your order delivered to an address in Germany. A friend, a relative, someone from your yard, someone from your club — anyone in Germany you trust.

  1. You order normally in the shop and enter the German delivery address.
  2. I send the parcel there, like any other order.
  3. That person then forwards the parcel to you privately. As a private individual they can do this within the EU without any problem — it isn't trade, just a parcel going from one person to another.

You can use your own address as the billing address, that's not a problem. What matters is that the delivery address is in Germany.

If you don't have anyone in Germany

Then write to me anyway: crharmonyequestrian@gmail.com. Sometimes a solution turns up, especially if there's a clinic or a trade fair near you coming up. I can't promise anything, but asking costs nothing.

Where I still ship

  • Germany — as always, items in stock usually go out within 1–2 working days
  • Switzerland, Liechtenstein, United Kingdom
  • Norway, Serbia, Ukraine, Bosnia, Albania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Belarus
  • USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore, UAE, Thailand, China, India, Israel, South Africa, Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Lebanon

Current rates and delivery times are on the Shipping page.

And if this changes again?

Then I'll say so. I'm not ruling out reopening EU shipping at some point — either when the business is large enough to carry the administrative load, or when the rules become workable. Sign up for the newsletter and you'll hear about it.

The aids must whisper.
